We are a unique family owned, Scandinavian inspired, Day Nursery and Forest School based in the centre of Hipperholme, near Halifax. We first opened in March 2003 and have continued to grow and develop ever since. We are completely independent and not part of any chain of nurseries or larger organisation. We emphasise the value that nature can bring to children and their physical, intellectual and emotional development and wellbeing. Whether this be through learning outside in the woods or incorporated into the design and layout of the Nursery itself.
We pride ourselves on being truly transparent in the way we work with parents, respecting them as partners, whilst supporting their children to become healthy, confident and resilient learners eager to fulfil their true potential.
Our experienced team
We have a well established and professional staff group, supported by a competent and experienced senior management team. To maintain quality and continuity of care, we always have more staff on duty than Ofsted minimum staffing ratios require, enabling us to cover for staff holidays and sickness at short notice. All our staff are permanently contracted employees of the Nursery.
Our facilities
Whilst children attending Nursery spend lots of time outdoors playing, learning and exploring the natural environment, we recognised that the quality of our indoor environment is of equal importance. Internally, the Nursery has been completely redesigned to meet our Scandinavian Forest School philosophy. We have deliberately ensured that the Nursery is bright, light and spacious.

If you are looking for a place for your child, then please come and visit us. We have a completely open-door policy. No prior appointment is necessary. There is always someone available to show you around the Nursery from 07:30 to 18:00 each weekday.
