New Rugs and Resources
29/02/2020
We have had lots of new resources delivered in the last few days, including many new rugs. We are following detailed practical infection control guidelines issued by the Danish Government to their nurseries as they reopened last week.
Amongst many other things, these state that only soft toys that can be washed on eighty degrees or over and rugs that can be washed on sixty degrees or over are allowed. All surfaces have to be disinfected several times a day. Fitted carpets are forbidden because there is no way they can be cleaned to an acceptable standard (we have none in Nursery) and children should be outside a much as possible in the sunshine and fresh air.
Freddie, the Nursery empathy dog was allowed to test some of our new rugs the other day as he watched patiently by the landing windows waiting for the rest of his friends to be allowed back to nursery.

The benefits of outdoor learning
We passionately believe that children experience a huge range of benefits when they are playing and learning outside in natural environments. The natural world provides an infinite amount more learning resources and opportunities that can ever be provided in a single room or playground. This why we have purchased a completely secure and private nine acre field in Denholme, which it is in the process of developing into our own forest school facility, where children can be taken to enjoy playing and learning all day in a totally natural environment. We are not alone in believing this as a large number of studies show that children benefit from learning outdoors in many ways.
