Forest School - Pickup and Drop Off
11/09/2023
Monday the 11th of September represented a significant day in the contiinous development of the Nursery and Forest School. For the first time, we started using the Old Brodleians Rugy Club car park as a pick-up (and drop-off) point for our Forest School children. This went extremely well, and we would like to thank our parents, The Old Brodleians management and our staff for ensuring that yesterday's start went so smoothly and successfully.
Our Forest School has now achieved it's own Ofsted registration in it's own right, which now means that we can pick up children on a morning from any georgraphical location, and take them to our Forest School, and then bring them back on an evening. This will enable parents who would not normally be able to access our Forest School for their children, the oportunity to do so. We plan to develop several new pick up points, starting next year.

The benefits of outdoor learning
We passionately believe that children experience a huge range of benefits when they are playing and learning outside in natural environments. The natural world provides an infinite amount more learning resources and opportunities that can ever be provided in a single room or playground. This why we have purchased a completely secure and private nine acre field in Denholme, which it is in the process of developing into our own forest school facility, where children can be taken to enjoy playing and learning all day in a totally natural environment. We are not alone in believing this as a large number of studies show that children benefit from learning outdoors in many ways.
